Discover the Benefits of Jewelry CAD

Jewelry CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software is a specialized type of software used by jewelry designers and manufacturers to create and design jewelry digitally before it is physically produced. This software allows designers to create intricate and detailed designs, simulate different materials, textures, and gemstones, and visualize the final product in a three-dimensional environment.
As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, there are several popular jewelry CAD software options available in the market:
1. RhinoGold/Rhinojewel: These are plugins for Rhino 3D, a versatile 3D modeling software. They offer specialized tools and features for jewelry design, including gemstone settings, engraving, and more.
2. Matrix/RhinoMatrix: Matrix is another plugin for Rhino, offering advanced tools for jewelry design, rendering, and analysis. It’s known for its parametric history and extensive library of pre-built components.
3. CounterSketch: This software by Stuller provides a user-friendly interface for creating customized jewelry designs. It’s suitable for both novice and experienced designers.
4. JewelCAD: A standalone software for jewelry design, JewelCAD is known for its powerful design capabilities and comprehensive toolset.
5. 3Design: 3Design offers a user-friendly interface and robust features for creating complex jewelry designs, including gemstone settings and organic shapes.
6. T-Splines (Autodesk Fusion 360): While T-Splines is more of a general 3D modeling tool, it has been used by jewelry designers for its ability to create organic and intricate shapes.
7. ZBrush: Similar to T-Splines, ZBrush is primarily used for organic sculpting, but it has been adopted by some jewelry designers for creating detailed and artistic jewelry designs.
8. Blender: A free and open-source 3D modeling software, Blender can also be used for jewelry design with the right skillset and add-ons.
